- Carry a quality down jacket, thermal layers, windproof outerwear and a four-season sleeping bag. Weather near Larkya La can be extremely cold even in peak season.
- Teahouses are available but simple. Hot showers, internet and charging may not be available in remote areas. Shalom Treks helps you prepare mentally and logistically.
- There are no ATMs along the route. Carry enough Nepali rupees in small bills to cover food, lodging and personal expenses.
- You’ll pass through traditional villages with monasteries, prayer flags and mani walls. Walk clockwise around chortens and always ask before photographing locals.
- Trek in spring (March to May) or autumn (September to November) for the best trail conditions. Snow or wind can make Larkya La dangerous in winter or early spring.
